On Monday, Hewlett-Packard announced that Hewlett-Packard ProLiant Generation 8 servers have taken large commercial, academic, and research institutions onto the TOP 500 list of the highest performing supercomputers on the planet. Hewlett-Packard server tech supported 198 of 2013′s top 500 systems, making it the top server vendor on this year’s list. State-of-the-art research and development is a competitive differentiator for a number of organizations, permitting them to attract the best talent and solve some of the world’s largest challenges.
Boston Scientific Corp. (NYSE:BSX): Current price $11.58
In what is a large step forward in the evolution of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation tech, the first two commercial implants of the Boston Scientific Lotus Valve System have been conducted in a German hospital. Prof. Dr. Gerhard Schuler and Prof. Dr. Axel Linke, both of which are considered TAVI pioneers, led the procedures at the Heart Center — University Hospital Leipzig. CE Mark approval for the Lotus Valve System was reported October 28 at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Conference in San Francisco.
Salesforce.com Inc. (NYSE:CRM): Current price $55.50
Cloudconnect has announced Monday on its website that it has been purchased by Salesforce.com. The firm said that it will now become part of Heroku. Financial terms of the transaction have not been divulged.
